Licensees, through their local county and district law association library, may request books to be sent to that library through interlibrary loan (ILL). Law association library staff should email requests to greatlibrary@lso.ca.
Over the phone requests are not accepted. Loan requests received directly from licensees are not accepted, nor are requests from other libraries. Here is a list of county and district law association libraries and contact information on the LiRN website.
ILL requests for Great Library materials will be considered on a case-by-case basis. As a general rule, Practice Collection and loose-leaf materials will not be loaned. If a current edition of a text cannot be loaned, a second copy or previous edition (if available in Stacks) may be loaned. Requests may also be refused if the materials are deemed too heavily used or too old and fragile.
Great Library materials loaned to a county or district law association library are to be used in that library and are not to be removed or used in a licensee’s office or home.
The usual loan period is two weeks unless otherwise arranged at the time of the request.
